At Fairburn, we are proud to celebrate the diversity of our school community by introducing family traditions, cultures, and experiences to our student body. These celebrations enrich student learning, foster a sense of belonging, and honor the unique backgrounds and traditions that make Fairburn special. We are seeking parent volunteers to help organize school-wide cultural heritage assemblies throughout the year.
- These assemblies are typically 20–25 minutes and take place during a Monday (or Friday) morning school assembly. Presentations are designed to educate and inspire our elementary students and may include a student group presentation, setting-up decor and/or displays, music, dance, traditional clothing, language, or other traditions appropriate for a school-wide audience.
- Volunteer(s) will collaborate with a Fairburn teacher and/or Principal Patterson to plan the assembly, and funding may be provided by FAB subject to approval.
- If you have questions before signing up, please email FABPresidents@gmail.com. For the full LAUSD Calendar of Commemorative Dates and Observances, please click here.
